Suspect leads police on chase until cab catches on fire.
A suspect in a stolen semi truck led the LAPD on a pursuit Thursday afternoon on November 3rd 2022. The Kern county police originally tried to stop the semi after seeing it was reported stolen but the suspect failed to stop.
The LAPD took over the pursuit on the freeway and laid down spike strips causing the suspect to run over the spike strips making the front tires go flat. After several minutes the tires fell off the rotors causing extensive heat to build up and catching the truck on fire.
The suspect finally gave up because the smoke filled up the cab and without incident he was taking into custody.
