*Vacaville to Berkeley Stolen Vehicle*
This afternoon at approximately 11:50 am, the Vacaville Police Department was in pursuit of a stolen vehicle on I-80 (w/b) from Pena Adobe when CHP assistance was requested. Due to the suspect fleeing in a reckless manner the pursuit was canceled. CHP – Solano located the vehicle on I-80 in Vallejo and terminated their involvment when CHP H-32 arrived overhead.
H-32 followed the vehicle to Berkeley where the suspect parked the stolen vehicle and fled on foot. With the assistance of CHP H-32, CHP Airplane Air-31, CHP – Oakland, and the Berkeley Police Department the suspect was located a short time later hiding in a backyard.The suspect was booked into the Berkeley Jail for driving a stolen vehicle, felony evading and hit and run. The Oakland CHP is investigating this incident.
